SEO services in Busan

An SEO company for Busan businesses. Busan runs one of the world’s largest container ports and one of Korea’s busiest beach and festival economies, and the two produce search demand that has almost nothing in common.

The Busan picture

Busan has port and logistics demand alongside a visitor market

The port side of Busan is international by definition. Shipping, freight forwarding, ship supply, repair and survey, cold chain, customs and the engineering around them are bought by people in Rotterdam, Singapore, Shanghai and Long Beach, searching in English for a capability, a certification or a berth. Naver is irrelevant to that audience and Korean-language content does not reach them. It is Google, in English, and remarkably few Busan firms have written for it properly.

The visitor side is the opposite in almost every respect. Haeundae, Gwangalli, Jagalchi, the film festival and the summer beach season are bought partly by domestic Korean visitors researching on Naver and partly by regional Asian and Western visitors researching on Google in several languages, months ahead. Those two audiences want different information and find it in different places, and a single page rarely serves both.

The practical consequence is that Busan businesses need to be unusually clear about which of the two they are in, because the platform, the language and the delivery model all follow from it. Where both apply, the Korean side is handled by a partner and the English side we run directly, under one plan.

The work

What SEO for a Busan business involves

English capability pages for the maritime trade

Services, certifications, berths, turnaround, coverage. Written for a buyer in another country and another time zone, in the terms they use.

Visitor content in the right language per audience

Domestic visitors research on Naver in Korean; overseas visitors on Google in English and other languages. Two audiences, two sets of pages.

A clear decision about which market you are in

Port and visitor demand share a city and nothing else. Trying to serve both from one set of pages is the most common structural mistake here.

Naver and Korean content through a partner

Delivered in Korean, in market, under the same strategy and the same reporting as the English side.

Questions we get

Busan SEO, answered plainly

We serve shipping companies. Is Naver relevant to us?

Almost not at all. Your buyers are freight, chartering and procurement people in other countries searching in English for a capability or a certification, and they will never open Naver. That part of your business is a Google and English problem, and it is one of the less contested corners of maritime search.

We are a hotel or restaurant. Which platform?

Both, and probably in that order — Naver for the domestic Korean visitors who make up most of the volume, Google in English and other languages for the overseas visitors who book further ahead and often spend more. They are separate audiences and each needs its own pages.

Is the overseas visitor market big enough to build for?

Growing and much less contested than the domestic one. Overseas visitors plan further ahead, search in their own language and are almost entirely unserved by Korean-language content, so a modest amount of good English material tends to go a long way.

Who does the Korean-language side?

A Korean partner, under the same plan and reporting. Naver work needs Korean-language content inside Korean platforms; the English and Google side we run directly.

How long does this take in Busan?

On the English side, first measurable movement typically shows inside three months and maritime capability terms often move faster because so few firms compete for them. Visitor content matures over six to twelve months and then compounds. See how we manage Google Ads for cover meanwhile.
