Search behaviour differs by country, and Brazil needs its own plan
Brazil is planned separately. It is about a third of the region’s population and its largest economy, it searches in Portuguese, and a Spanish-language plan does not reach it. Brazilian Portuguese also differs enough from European Portuguese that content written for Lisbon reads as foreign in São Paulo.
And most enquiries here arrive by message. WhatsApp is the default business channel across the region, which means form submissions alone will undercount what search is producing — often badly enough to make a working campaign look like a failing one. We set tracking up to count the conversation wherever it starts.

What SEO across Latin America involves
Keyword research per country, not per language
The nouns differ between Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Spain. Research from each market’s own data, or rank for words that country does not use.
Brazil planned as its own market
Portuguese, its own competitive set, its own payment behaviour and the largest e-commerce market in the region. It is not a section of a Spanish plan.
Conversion tracking that follows WhatsApp
If most enquiries arrive by message, form fills are the wrong measure. Getting this right usually changes what the data appears to say about the whole channel.
Pages built around local payment methods
Instant transfers in Brazil, cash and bank vouchers in Mexico, local bank rails in Colombia. It does not move rankings; it decides whether the ranking earns anything.
Latin America SEO, answered plainly
Can we run one Spanish campaign for the whole region?
Not well. The Spanish is different country to country in exactly the words people search with, so a single list underperforms everywhere except the country it was built in. Run one market properly first, learn what converts, then extend deliberately rather than assuming the second country is a copy of the first.
Does Brazil really need separate everything?
Yes, and it is the most common expensive oversight in regional planning. It speaks Portuguese, it is the biggest economy in Latin America, and a Spanish campaign reaches none of it. Treat it as its own market with its own research, or accept that you are not in it.
Why does our reporting show search producing so little here?
Very often because the enquiries are arriving on WhatsApp and nothing is counting them. In much of the region that is how people contact a business, and a funnel measured only in form submissions will show a channel failing while the phone fills up. Fix the measurement before you judge the channel.
Is Google dominant across Latin America?
Yes, and to an unusually high degree — considerably more so than in Asia or eastern Europe. That makes the region technically straightforward: there is no platform question to answer, and the difficulty is entirely in language, measurement and local commercial habits.
How long does this take in Latin America?
First measurable movement typically shows inside three months. Major metro terms in São Paulo, Mexico City or Bogotá usually take five to nine months to produce enquiries weekly; secondary cities often move in half that. See how we manage Google Ads if you need cover meanwhile.
